Find and Book Independent Artists: A Guide for Venues, Promoters and Fans

Looking for an act for your venue, event or playlist? Dream Big Artists puts independent artists’ music, photos, videos and booking details on one page each, so you can listen, decide and get in touch in a few minutes.

Start with the roster

The artist roster lists every published artist. Use the genre buttons to narrow it to hip-hop, R&B, rock, country or whatever fits your night. Use the “Where” buttons to see artists from a particular state. Each card shows the artist’s name, genre and hometown, and you can press play right from the card.

What you will see on an artist’s page

  • Music. A built-in player for their songs, no login needed.
  • Bio and highlights. Who they are and what they have done.
  • Press photos. View them full size and download them for flyers and posts.
  • Videos and press. Live clips, music videos and quotes.
  • Links. Streaming services and social accounts.
  • Upcoming shows. Dates, venues and ticket links.
  • Booking contacts. Email and phone details are listed. Many pages also have a booking form.

You can also save any page as a PDF press kit to share with your team.

Find live shows

Want to hear an artist before you book them? Check the Live Shows calendar. It lists upcoming shows from artists on the site, with city filters, a Tickets button when the artist adds one, and an Add to calendar button that works with iPhone, Google and Outlook.

Tips for booking independent artists

  1. Listen first. Play two or three songs, not just the first. Check that the sound fits your room and your crowd.
  2. Look at the live evidence. A live video and a recent show list tell you more than a bio does.
  3. Ask about the set. Confirm the set length, the band size and what equipment they bring.
  4. Be specific. Share your date, load-in time, pay or ticket structure and what you do to promote the night.
  5. Use the press photos. Download them for your event page and flyers, and credit the artist.
  6. Follow up in writing. Confirm the details by email so everyone has the same information.

How the roster is built

Every artist page is reviewed by a person on our team before it goes live, and changes artists make later get a quick check too. Artists keep all rights to their music and can ask us to take their page down at any time.

Are you an artist?

If you are on the other side of the booking email, get your own page so bookers can find you. It takes about 10 minutes. Create your artist page, and read our guide on how to write a booking email that gets replies.
